David J. Kim
David Kim is a seasoned Engineer and Entrepreneur, who began his career as a technology investment banker and strategy consultant. Over the last eighteen years, he has either founded or been a founding management team member of fast growing technology start-ups in the web search, digital content management and online advertising sectors. In 2011, David’s focus turned to education to align with his social views of the importance of education to our society. David is responsible for driving the Company's vision, product strategy, partnerships and day-to-day operations. David received his BS Engineering degree from UC Berkeley and his MS Management & Engineering degree from Stanford University.
David H. Webster
Webster brings years of scalability leadership, implementation and operationalization experience to software-as-a-service (SAAS) platforms and internet delivered solutions. At Intellus Learning, he wears many hats including support for product definition, engineering execution and technical operations. David has spent time in engineering executive leadership, architecture and operations management roles at Tumri (acquired by Collective), Yahoo!, Redback Networks (acquired by Ericsson) and Cygnus (acquired by RedHat). David received his BA in Mathematics & Computer Science from Lewis & Clark College in Portland.
Paul leads and manages all sales and partnership activities at Intellus Learning. He has experience in sales, marketing & product, successfully managing not only multiple sales channels within the educational industry, but also managing editorial & software development teams as well. Prior to Intellus, Paul has had a long, successful history in executive roles for sales, marketing & product at larger educational companies like Macmillan, McGraw-Hill, Pearson and Cengage, as well as smaller companies like Cold Spring Harbor & iClicker. Paul received his BA Communications from Marquette University and has completed MBA coursework from Seton Hall University.
A recognized thought leader with over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, editorial, product development, and general management, Renee Altier is responsible for guiding strategy for the Intellus Learning and iClicker businesses. Renee has a penchant for identifying key trends in the marketplace and partnering with the brightest academic minds to solve challenges for students and instructors. Highlights of her impressive career include managing the market-leading psychology franchise by David Myers, acquiring and managing the prepU adaptive learning platform, and launching the iClicker business in 2006, taking iClicker from from experiment to the best-selling student response system in the marketplace. Prior to moving into strategy, Renee served as the General Manager for the iClicker business.
Margaret leads our sales and partnership activities in the West region. Margaret brings 20+ years of successfully launching product and software into the Higher Education market. Prior to Intellus, she led the North American sales team at Sapling Learning and the western STEM sales teams at major educational companies. Over her career, Margaret has focused on helping both faculty and administrators effectively establish technology-driven programs that have enabled higher student retention and increased transparency of student engagement. Margaret received her BA from University of Texas at Austin and her MA from University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience defining and building higher education technology solutions, Steven leads product strategy and management for Macmillan Learning's institutional solutions. During his tenure in product lead roles at Cengage Learning, Atomic Dog Publishing, FSCreations, eInstruction, and Macmillan Learning, Steven has helped to develop educational products like iClicker and ExamView that are used by millions of educators and students around the world. Steven's educational background - he earned a BA English Literature from the University of Cincinnati and has taken additional masters-level coursework in instructional and digital design - enables him to bring a keen sense of refinement, clarity and structure that is needed to research, design, develop effective and well-designed educational technology solutions.
Bringing more than a decade of experience in higher education technology, Phoenix manages a marketing team that uses data and insight to lead market research, branding, product messaging, promotional and sales enablement efforts. Phoenix is responsible for ensuring that the value proposition of Macmillan Learning’s institutional solutions are communicated in ways that empower, support and delight students, educators and administrators. After launching products used by millions of students each year (like MasteringEngineering and MyLab Nursing for Concepts), and guided by a heartfelt belief in the power of education to improve people's lives, Phoenix is currently completing doctoral studies at the University of Florida in Educational Technology.
Lauren leads our Sales and Partnership activities for Affordability and OER with Intellus Learning in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to Intellus, she served various senior roles across digital learning, educational consulting and technology sales at major educational companies. Lauren is especially passionate about helping clients drive student affordability, access and equity measures through institutional and faculty empowerment. Lauren received her B.S. in Marketing from Florida State University and her MBA from University of Tampa with a specific focus on technology consulting.
As Vice President, Customer Experience, Marcie Smith manage all aspects of Customer Experience across Macmillan Learning. Throughout her career, Marcie has amassed varied experiences in account management, operations and customer support and uses her expertise to ensure that customers who use the products that her teams support enjoy a world-class experience. Marcie brings a customer-centric approach to everything that she does and has built and continues to manage a top-tier dedicated to delivering both product & technical support as well proactive client relationship programs. Prior to joining Macmillan, Marcie, a graduate of University of Southern Maine, built the Client Service and Operations team at Upromise that supported over 10 million customers and nearly a thousand enterprise partners.
As the Director of Institutional Partnerships for the Northeast, Dave Trygar leads sales and partnership efforts with colleges and universities from the mid-Atlantic area to New England. Prior to joining Macmillan Learning, Dave held sales and sales management positions at Turning Technologies and Cengage Learning. A graduate of Penn State University, Dave is passionate about helping institutions of higher education utilize technology to achieve better outcomes for students, faculty and administrators.
Breanna leads our inside sales activities on a nationwide basis. Prior to Intellus, she held a number of sales representative and support positions at Macmillan Learning. Breanna received her BA in Communication and Information from Rutgers University.
Laura von Rosenberg
Laura leads our sales and partnership activities in the Midwest region. Prior to Intellus, Laura has served the Higher Education industry as a Training Specialist and Technology Solutions Specialist for Sapling Learning as well as spending six years as an Enrollment Operations Supervisor at ESM, a Xerox Company, where she partnered with Arizona State University and Tiffin University to drive enrollment and retention in their online programs. Laura received her Bachelors in Public Relations from Colorado State University and her Masters in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Denver Seminary.
